          The Bridal Party

Film Adaptation of F. S. Fitzgerald's 'The Bridal Party'

'The Bridal Party' is a short story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896-1940) based on his friend Ludlow’s brother’s, Powell Fowler's, real wedding in Paris, May 1930. It was the talk of Paris for its extravagance and show of proud American money in times of great Depression and looming war.  It is like ‘Gatsby in Paris’. Paris the ‘City of Love’.

STORY OUTLINE

Michael learns that the girl of his dreams is marrying a millionaire and joins the Bridal Party in Paris, as he inherits a fortune while the other loses his on the eve of the wedding, and Bride Caroline has to choose between the dreamer and the loser, to marry the newly rich Michael or start afresh with Hamilton.

Nostalgia & Romance in Paris

The story is
fictional romantic comedy drama, filled with exciting bachelor parties, jazz bands, swing dance and a grand wedding reception. It will be semi-musical featuring well loved Gershwin & Cole Porter wedding songs. It is to be set at real historic locations in Paris, bringing to life the romantic past and scenes of pre-war nostalgia. The hotel where the wedding was held in 1930 is still frequented today by celebrities and royalty. This movie will be a great tourist attraction for Paris. L'amour à Paris.

Locations, Star Cast and Historic Locations

Scenes are to be set at the real and historic locations in Paris. The Cathedral where the real wedding took place is still a place of worship for Anglo-Americans living in Paris today. The Hotel George Cinq where the reception was held is still one of the most expensive hotels in Paris, frequented by rich Americans since a century ago where famous people like Princess Grace of Monaco would drop by for an afternoon tea. 'The Great Gatsby' movies had legendary star cast with Robert Redford & Mia Farrow in 1974, and Leonardo di Caprio & Carey Mulligan in 2013.

We plan to fill 'Bridal Party' with just as glittering a cast too. We hope to Premiere in Cannes and are extremely grateful to Film France and CNC for their support and interest in our project which would not have been possible without their encouraging Christine in her debut feature production. Cannes is the home of movie magic, where the Fitzgeralds resided in the 1920's and Grace Kelly met her Prince Rainier of Monaco, a place where dreams can come true.
